Arizona Wildcats quarterback Anu Solomon is listed as questionable to play in Saturday's rivalry game against Arizona State because of a concussion, the UA announced Thursday.
Solomon, a sophomore, was injured in the fourth quarter of last weekend's 37-30 win over Utah. The Cats' quarterback was hit by the Utes' Jason Fanaika as he slid, and his head snapped onto the Arizona Stadium turf. Jerrard Randall took over, and led the Wildcats to a victory in double-overtime.
Solomon was having the best game of his season at the time of the injury. The quarterback completed 17 of 27 passes for 277 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for a team-high 86 carries and a score. Solomon's status depends on whether the UA's medical staff clears him to compete. He was limited in the Wildcats' practices Tuesday and Wednesday; the team will hold a walk-through Thursday.
The rest of Arizona's injury report was relatively clean: Linebackers Scooby Wright (foot), Jake Matthews (foot) and Derrick Turituri (hip) and guard Freddie Tagaloa (knee) are all listed as out. The UA does not list any players as probable or doubtful to play.
The Wildcats (6-5, 3-5) will face the Sun Devils (5-5, 3-4) at 1:30 p.m. Saturday. The game will be aired on Fox Sports 1.
