Danny Vega captured his third straight state championship on Friday night while Ironwood Ridge's wrestling won its first-ever Division I state title.
Vega cruised to a win in the 113-pound championship bout at Prescott Valley Event Center and was one of three winners for the Nighthawks, who scored 194 points to top second-place Sunnyside.

The victory gave I-Ridge its first championship since 2013 but fourth in the last six seasons; the Nighthawks won three straight championships in Division II from 2011-2013.
Sophomore Roman Bravo-Young won his second straight state crown Friday night to lead Sunnyside, which also had three individual winners and scored 171.5 points.
