Salpointe Catholic’s boys soccer team saw its season end Wednesday night with a 1-0 loss in the Class 4A state semifinals in Glendale. Third-ranked Phoenix Cortez eliminated the Lancers, earning a spot in Saturday’s final. Cortez will play No. 5 Gila Ridge in the state finals.
Salpointe’s girls secured a spot in the final with a semifinal win earlier this week. Ironwood Ridge’s girls will face Scottsdale Chaparral in the 5A state semifinals on Thursday, with Sabino taking on AZ College Prep in Friday’s 3A boys state semis.
