Salpointe Catholic will play for the Class 4A state softball championship on Tuesday night in the final local high school sporting event of the 2017-18 season.
The Lancers' goal? Party like Sabino and Cienega did Monday night. The Sabercats baseball team and Bobcats softball team both won state titles on Monday night.

Fifth-seeded Salpointe will take on No. 3 Glendale Cactus at Tempe's Farrington Softball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.; the game will be shown on Fox Sports Arizona, albeit on tape delay.
The Salpointe showdown comes one day after Sabino topped Sahuarita 6-4 to win the Class 3A baseball championship and Cienega beat Ironwood Ridge 8-2 to win the Class 5A state softball title. In 4A baseball, Nogales came out of the loser's bracket to stun Catalina Foothills 3-2. (Click on the attached links to read about all three games).
