Sugar Skulls No. 4 logo

The Tucson Sugar Skulls have their first offensive coordinator, and it’s someone with whom their new head coach has a relationship.

Hurtis Chinn comes from the Indoor Football League’s Iowa Barnstormers, where he served as the wide receivers coach. New Sugar Skulls boss Marcus Coleman was the Barnstormers’ defensive coordinator. Together, the coaches won an IFL title this summer.

β€œI know Coach Chinn to be just the kind of coach we want for our organization,” Coleman said. β€œHe stresses hard work and mental toughness which are going to be trademarks of our team.”

Chinn spent six years with the IFL’s Nebraska Danger, the final year as the head coach, following an indoor football playing career. Chinn played collegiately at Western New Mexico in Silver City.

The Sugar Skulls will begin play next spring in the IFL.
