Linden Vey scored with 1:58 remaining, and the visiting Stockton Heat beat the Tucson Roadrunners 3-2 Saturday at Tucson Arena. The game was the Roadrunners’ first since captain Craig Cunningham collapsed before last Saturday’s game. That game was postponed, as were two midweek games against the San Diego Gulls.

The 26-year-old Cunningham remains in critical but stable condition at Banner-University Medical Center. A report on NHL.com Saturday stated that Cunningham remains unconscious. Roadrunners officials have previously said that doctors are unsure exactly what caused the collapse.

Tucson’s Brendan Perlini scored twice β€” once in the first period and once in the second β€” to give the hosts a 2-0 lead. Stockton cut the deficit to 2-1 with a goal from Mikkel Agaard in the second period, and tied it when Rasmus Andersson notched a goal with 9:51 left.

The teams will play again Sunday at TCC Arena. The puck drops at 4:05 p.m.
