The San Jose Barracuda scored three first-period goals, building a lead that proved insurmountable for the visiting Tucson Roadrunners on Saturday. San Jose prevailed 5-2, handing the Runners their second loss in as many nights. Stockton beat the Roadrunners 3-2 in overtime late Friday.
Stefan Fournier and Lindsay Sparks both scored third-period goals for Tucson to help avoin d the shutout. The team played without forward Laurent Dauphin, who was recalled by the parent Arizona Coyotes before the game.
The Roadrunners (15-9-4-0) return home Tuesday for a make-up game with the Manitoba Moose. Their Nov. 18 matchup was rescheduled after captain Craig Cunningham collapsed on the ice.Β
