A shirtless guitarist emerges from the "Curtain of Distraction" during an Arizona free throw during the second half of the No. 6 Arizona Wildcats vs. Arizona State men's college basketball game on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at Wells Fargo Arena in Tempe, Ariz. Arizona State upset the Wildcats 81-78.

THE CURTAIN WAS A DISTRACTION

The ASU’s student section has become famous for its free throw distractions. The crowd brings out a curtain as the opponent approaches the free throw line at their end of the court, and as their about to shoot, fans dressed and acting crazy pop out. It’s the “Curtain of Distraction.”

It was in full effect in Saturday’s second half.

Here’s what we caught:

• A guy in a bear costume, dancing, as Brandon Ashley went 1 of 2.

• A dancing shark — a nod, obviously, to Katy Perry's Super Bowl halftime show — as Rondae Hollis-Jefferson converted an and-one.

• Four ASU football players, including quarterback Mike Bercovici and running back D.J. Foster, danced as Ashley went 1 of 2.

• Students wearing unicorn, duck, wolf and cat masks twerked, wearing tutus, as Hollis-Jefferson went 1 of 2.

• Students dressed as a dancing bear and penguin as Stanley Johnson made both free throws.

• A couple of unicorn and chicken-masked students pretended to kiss as Gabe York went 1 for 2.
