Desert Museum Mineral Madness Sale and Family Fun

Shop for your own mineral and fossil treasures at rock-bottom prices. Thousands of mineral specimens for sale for the novice to the serious collector. Bargain hunters will find specimens for as little as 50 cents.

The Museum's Junior Docents will run geology activity stations, where you can learn about mineral uses and special properties, make mineral crafts, and learn how to identify minerals. At each station, children can collect a free rock or mineral specimen in their own egg-carton collection box.

Free Downtown Jazz Fiesta

The Tucson Jazz Festival presents its annual Downtown Jazz Fiesta on MLK Day, with eight stages all over downtown Tucson featuring more than a dozen local bands, including jazz ensembles, R&B, blues and soul. There will be food trucks and beer and wine for purchase.
