Ok parents. If you've been aching to get out for some kid-free time, but don't have anybody to babysit, now's your chance.
For the first time in about 8 years, the recreation center at Udall Park is hosting Parents Night Out on Friday, Sept. 30, where you can drop off your kids, ages 5-11, for three hours of fun activities and a movie. Get this: It's only $1.50 per child.
It's the city's way of reaching out to the community and hopefully getting more youth in the park's center, said Jerry Kincade, a recreation assistant.
Children will be supervised by people who run the recreation center's programs. All are first aid and CPR certified.
For now, Udall is the only city center offering the program, but the parks and recreation department will expand if it's "a catchy thing," Kincade said. "Hopefully we'll be able to do it once a month."
