Julie Bonner, owner of Julie Originals, talks to a customer while sharing a table with The Dandelion Attic, at left, at a Cultivate market. Bonner will also be at the Artist Boutique Blowout.

Mary Spencer has toted some of her old artwork around for about 20 years.

She's so ready to get rid of it.

Enter the Artist Boutique Blowout

Spencer, along with local artists Susan Talavera Elias and Shelly Johnson Yock, organized the event to give artists a chance to sell art to the public at discounted prices.

It's basically an art show with clearance prices. All of the artwork is 10-90 percent off regular prices, Spencer says. Some artists will also be selling used supplies.

"All the artists are local, and we have everything from painters to fabric artists..." Spencer says. "Some are more fine artists and then some are crafters. Everything is under $100."

About 30 locals artists will be selling discounted art at the blowout Saturday at Whistle Stop Depot, 127 W. Fifth St. Shop to live music by Tucson performers and grab a bite at the food truck BurgerRito. The event will also benefit Ben's Bells. Get the complete list of artists here

"Artists like to experiment with things, different techniques, and change their style," Spencer says. "But artists also get known for a particular style, and when they start changing, they have inventory left. ... The idea is for artists to get rid of their old stuff and make room for new stuff in their studios, their minds, brains and souls."
