The fall season isn't just awesome for people.Β 

From walks and runs to festivals and expos, there are plenty of opportunities to take your fur babies and your human babies out for some fun together.

So, go ahead. Grab the kids and your canines and enjoy a day of walking, running and playing. You'll even have the chance to support a good cause.

P.S. Don't forget the leash for your four-legged kids!

Sweat for Pets: Walk, Run and Roll

Benefits the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. Bring your well-behaved pooch (with a leash), your family or friends and walk in this 3k non-competitive event. There's also a pet Halloween costume contest.Β 

Where: University of Arizona Mall

When: Oct. 23

Walk to benefit the Humane Society of Southern Arizona. There's also a KidZone and pet Halloween costume contest.Β

Dogtoberfest

Benefits Handi-Dogs.Β Dogtoberfest is described as a carnival for dogs and their people. There will be games, contests, raffles, vendors, live music, food and a beer garden.

All well-mannered dogs on a six foot or shorter leash are welcome. They can enter a peanut butter licking contest or bob for hot dogs in a bucket of water, paint with their paws or try out an obstacle course. And, you can take a selfie in the selfie kissing booth.Β 

Where: The Gregory School, 3231 N. Craycroft Road

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 23

Cost: It's free to attend, but it costs $5 per dog to enter all morning or afternoon contests. And you'll need money for raffle tickets.

Doggie Dash 'n Dawdle

Hosted by the Town of Oro Valley, the Doggie Dash 'n Dawdle is a run/walk event and dog festival for the whole family. The festival will have prizes, dog costume contest, dog crafts, training demos, free dog stuff and info from local dog organizations.Β 

There is a two mile Doggie Dash run/walk and a one mile Dawdle run/walk.

Where: Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park, 551 W. Lambert Lane

When: 8:45 a.m. to noon October 29

Festival and run/walk.

Cost: $20 to register for the walk. Festival is free.Β

Tucson Pet Expo

There will be lots of free info, free nail trims for Fido, pet demos, prizes (for you and your dog), live entertainment, obedience demos, author signings, discounted vaccinations and microchipping, pet costume contest and more.Β 

Bring your pet. If you don't have one, you can adopt one there.Β 

Where: Tucson Convention Center, 260 S. Church Ave.Β 

When: 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 29

Vendors, entertainment, activities, prizes and free stuff.

Cost: Free

Jingle Bell Run

Benefits the Arthritis Foundation. While it's not a dog-themed event, dogs are welcome. Wear a holiday-themed costume, put antlers or jingles bells on your dog, wear an ugly sweater and spread good cheer while completing a 5k walk or run.Β 

Where: Reid Park, 900 Β S. Randolph Way

When: 8 a.m. Dec. 3

Walk or run a 5k with your family and your dog if you want.Β 

Cost: $20-40

Bark for Life

It's a fundraising event that honors the life-long contributions of canine caregivers and benefits the American Cancer Society.

It's described as being like Relay for Life, but for dogs. There's a walk, doggie games, demonstrations, paw printing, doggie kissing booth and more.

There's also a dress up contest and look alike contest.Β 

Where: Reid Park, 900 S. Randolph Way

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dec. 10

Cost: $15 includes participant and dog. There is a fee for an additional dog and a limit of two dogs per person.
