Harrison Brown snuggles with Riley the yellow lab.

There's a new class in town that teaches kids how to train the family dog.

The thought behind it is that having the children involved in training "creates a better bond, enables consistency that otherwise wouldn't be there and helps solve problems along the way," said Jeremy Brown, owner of The Complete Canine.

It also helps the child and dog build a bond and have a "good relationship while working as a team."

Each six week session costs $150. Classes take place for one hour one day a week. Makeup classes are included in the price.

The first session starts 2 p.m. Sunday at The Complete Canine, 4767 N. First Ave.

If your kids are under the age of 10, you'll have to stay with him or her at the class. If they're 10 or older, you do not have to stay.
