Two University of Arizona organizations are hosting a local version of the worldwide protest SlutWalk on Thursday.

The UA's Women's Resource Center and FORCE (Feminists Organized to Resist, Create and Empower) are hosting the walk to protest slut shaming and victim blaming; reclaim the words slut and rape; and bring awareness to sexual violence.

The walk begins at Old Main on the UA campus and moves toward Revolutionary Grounds Book and Coffee on Fourth Avenue. Make t-shirts and posters before the walk at the Women's Resource Center on the fourth floor of the student union.

Halfway through the walk there will be a quick stop at Catalina Park on Fourth Avenue, 941 N 4th Ave.

There will also be a live performance by Esperanza Dance group, a speak-out, and information from organizations around Tucson.
