Tucson Mural Program

To-Ree-Nee Wolf continues to work on her mural called "Creation Story, Chaos Theory and Quantum Memory," on Wednesday June 08, 2016. Her mural is located at 213 E. Broadway Blvd. The eight new murals in downtown Tucson are part of the City of Tucson Mural Program, in conjunction with Tucson Arts Brigade.ย

If you're an artist with an amazing idea for a mural downtown, now's your chance to make it a reality.

The City of Tucson is accepting proposals now through midnight, Sept. 28 from Arizona artists to create up to four new murals that reflect diversity in style and culture.

Funding provided by the City of Tucson Mural Program will cover the artist's fee, paints and some brushes. It does not cover travel, lodging or meal costs.ย

Artists can submit a proposal for more than one mural, but each mural must have its own proposal. Up to four murals by four individual artists or team of collaborative artists will be selected.ย

So far, there are three approximate wall sizes: 20 feet by 92 feet; 18 feet by 30 feet and 32 feet by 45 feet. More walls may be added.ย

Proposals must be emailed to COTMuralProgram@gmail.com no later than midnight Sept. 28 to be considered.ย

Your proposal must include a one page narrative concept for the mural, including approximate dimension, colors and style of work, wall preparation plan, timetable, an 11x17 detailed design of the proposed mural in PDF or JPEG formats, itemized budget, resume with contact info, 5-8 samples of past murals and an image list including size, materials, costs and location of works. Everything needs to be a PDF, JPEG or Word doc.

If chosen, painting starts Nov. 1 and must be completed by Nov. 30.
