Rather than spend the weekend watching football on TV, the Arizona football coaching staff scattered to recruiting hot spots. Receivers coachΒ Tony DewsΒ went to the Newbury Park vs. Saugus game in Santa Clarita, California, to watch Newbury Park standoutΒ Darick Holmes, a senior who has already committed to Arizona. Newbury Park’s staff includes ex-UA quarterbackΒ Keith SmithΒ and tackleΒ Joe Smigiel. Also at the game: former star UA receiverΒ Richard Dice, whose legacy with the Wildcats was that of a Sun Devil menace, going 3-1 against ASU. RichRod remains in urgent need of big-game players such as Dice, as well as Pac-12-ready linemen, linebackers and cornerbacks.
