What's new with the Utes

While Utah has lost twice on the road (UCLA, Oregon) since Arizona’s 69-51 win over the Utes on Jan. 17 at McKale Center, they are much tougher to deal with at home. The Utes are undefeated at the rowdy, high-elevation Huntsman Center, and their defense has been even stingier than even Arizona’s. Utah proved all that again Thursday, tearing apart ASU by limiting the Sun Devils to just 28-percent shooting and blocking 11 of their shots. Overall, Utah is holding Pac-12 teams to 38.5 percent shooting from the field, 27.5-percent from three-point range and blocking an average of 4.7 shots. Not much has changed in the way the Utes are attacking teams since they showed up at McKale. Offensively, they try to free up versatile wing Delon Wright, and they have a trio of big men, including the highly skilled Jakob Poeltl, to make life difficult in the post.
