Gretchen Regan dances with young girls during opening night at Paraphernalia boutique in Broadway Village, Tucson, on Feb. 1, 1967.

It's time to unleash your inner Dancing Queen.

A fireworks party with live music runs till 11 at Hotel Congress.

Why? You already know Hotel Congress as the home of your favorite brunch spot, a hub for running into people you went to high school with and a venue for cool underground music. Besides the usual Top 40/dance music playing on the patio and in the club on the weekends, it's a place for a wide mix of music and themes. On Thursdays, you can dance to latin music. Or try 90s night on Mondays where you can get PBR drafts for 90 cents. If you're going to Hotel Congress, you can choose between two places to dance: Club Congress or the patio. Options are nice.

Expect to wait a while to get a drink and expect a line to get in.

*Pro tip: Get there early, get stamped and avoid the line later.

Playground Bar & Lounge

Location: 278 E. Congress St.

Hours: Open Monday and Tuesday from 4 p.m. to midnight, Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 a.m., and Sunday from 8 a.m. to midnight.

Find them online here.

Why: After you've had a drink or two at one of your favorite bars downtown, make your way to Playground for dancing. Playground's rooftop bar and dance floor gives you the perfect view of the Hotel Congress sign and all the drunk people walking down the street. Although the music is mostly electric dance music, the DJ finds a way to mix in a classic or favorite. If you're not feeling the vibe upstairs, head downstairs to relax on a chair you wish you owned or listen to a different song.

Expect to wait in line to get in.

Hi Fi Kitchen & Cocktails

The bar and nightclub Hi-Fi Kitchen and Cocktails, 345 E. Congress St., boasts 44 TVs and two projectors to watch the latest games. Insider tip: The bartenders here spike their drinks with significantly more alcohol than your average joint.

Why? Grab lunch, order an adult milkshake (that's a milkshake with alcohol) and then when it starts to get dark out, dance to Drake with 100 of your closest Tucson friends. DJs and bouncers show up at around 10 p.m.

Weekends are busy, making things crowded.

The Warehouse

Hours: Closed Monday, Wednesday and Sunday, and open from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Find them online here.

Why? This hidden gem hosts live shows and gives you the best house music to get down to. Often overlooked because it acts as a passageway for Maloney's and The Wreck, The Warehouse has a little bit for everyone. Sure, you'll probably run into your lab partner from two semesters ago but you'll have fun watching live shows or singing along to your favorite top hit.

Expect long lines and occasional covers.

Why? Get your country music fix at The Wreck or just run into someone from your 8 a.m. there. Because it is right next to Maloney's — the already-crowded-with college-students bar — you've probably already seen it or heard of it. People go for the tire swing and to learn how to two-step. Go if you've never been before. You should experience it for yourself.

Expect long lines and occasional covers.

Why? O'Malley's is right right next to Maloney's and, yes, it's kind of confusing. At O'Malley's, you can play some pool, drinks some drinks, order some food and then, when you're ready, head to the nicely spread out dance floor to bust a move to house music. It never gets too crowded and you're less likely to run into someone you know.

Check out the drink specials here. They're pretty good.
