Denim & Diamonds, the country music nightclub that operated at 5470 E. Broadway for more than three years, has closed.

Graham Brothers Entertainment, the Odessa, Texas-based company that opened the venture, confirmed its closure, but declined to comment further.

Andy Seleznov, director of operations for Larsen Baker, the firm that owns the building, said the club has not able to meet its financial obligations based on the terms of their lease.

"We tried working with the tenant so they could continue operating," Seleznov said. "But the two parties could not come to an agreement. The tenant decided it wasn't valuable for them to continue operating there."

Seleznov said Larsen Baker sent the tenant a notice of default, but that the tenant chose to leave rather than cure the default.

Denim & Diamonds launched in March of 2014, filling the spot left behind by the Cactus Moon, a long-running club in the same vein that had been evicted from the property in July of 2012 for falling $25,000 behind in rent.

Cactus Moon had operated in the space for 23 years before its eviction.

Graham Brothers Entertainment owns and operates country music-themed clubs and restaurants in New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and in the Phoenix area.
