Anthony Fotu is no longer a member of the Arizona Wildcats, the UA confirmed Friday Β Β

The defensive lineman left the team, and it's unclear if he intends to transfer. Fotu had been suspended indefinitely prior to Arizona's game against Colorado last season on Oct. 17 for a violation of team rules, and his suspension was going to carry over into the 2016 season.

Fotu came to Arizona from Laney College in 2015 and was expected to play a key role on UA's thin defensive line. Instead, he wound up recording just four tackles in four games last season, notably getting an interception against Oregon State prior to his suspension.Β

Fotu had also been suspended for a separate violation of team rules earlier in the season and missed the Wildcats' season-opening game against UTSA.Β
