Plenty has been written about Arizona's incoming 2017 class, particularly around these parts.

But what about beyond that?

Friday, the Wildcats offered quarterback David Baldwin a scholarship. Baldwin is 6-foot-2, 175 pounds from Upland HS in California.

Oh, and he's in the class of 2019.

As in, Baldwin has only played one season of high school football, and will be a sophomore in the fall.

He's not the only one, either β€” looking down the line, Arizona has already offered seven other 2019 recruits scholarships, and all but three of them are from California. That includes Baldwin, QB Cameron Williams (Bakersfield), CB Max Williams (Junipero Serra), Keyon Ware-Hudson (Vista Murrieta), athlete De'Gabriel Floyd (Augustus Hawkins).

The others are safety Brendan Gant (Kathleen Senior HS/Lakeland, Florida), RB Noah Cain (Guyer HS/Denton, Texas) and DT Matthew Pola-Mao (Mountain Pointe/Phoenix). Pola-Mao is the brother of 2017 Arizona target Isaiah Pola-Mao, a four-star safety.Β

Don't ask about the stars for the guys just listed, though β€” star ratings aren't available that far down the line.Β

All kidding aside, offers this far out are not all too out of the ordinary anymore, actually.

Braxton Burmeister, a 2017 quarterback commit from San Diego, told me that Florida offered him a scholarship before his sophomore season, and Arizona quickly followed suit. He originally committed to the Wildcats as a sophomore, actually.Β
