Barnes (then Erika Hanson) played first base at the UA from 1998-2001, winning a Womenβs College World Series championship as a senior. Barnes played professionally for the New York/New Jersey Juggernaut of National Pro Fastpitch, working for the teamβs marketing department during the offseasons. Barnes has been involved with the Wildcatsβ softball program in one way or another since her return to the UA in 2005. For a time, Barnes served as the color analyst on Arizonaβs radio broadcasts.
