No matter which team you are rooting for, we can all agree that delicious snacks are an integral part of Super Bowl fun. After all, what's a good Super Bowl party without tasty beer, soda, guacamole and snacks?
Unfortunately, many of these snacks come packed with calories, fat and sodium. The day after the big game, our bodies may reprimand us for overindulging — so it might be wise to know which munchies will add the least to our midsections.
The potato chip is a savory snack classic, but just how many calories are you consuming with every handful? HealthGrove, a health data site by Graphiq, ranked potato chip brands based on how many calories they contain per serving size. Chips were then ranked on sodium to break caloric ties. If chips had the same amount of calories and sodium, they were ranked by fat content.
Although most popular potato chips contain a similar amount of calories, certain chips pack an incredibly salty punch. The American Heart Association recommends 1,500 milligrams of sodium per day, and too many servings of these snacks could easily put you over the edge.
