Ever notice the dynamic modernist architecture in film director Alfred Hitchcock's movies?

You just might after Friday.

Organizers with Tucson Modernism Week has recruited historian Christine Madrid Franch to talk about the filmmaker's use of buildings and structures in cinematic classics such as "North by Northwest," "Psycho" and "Vertigo."

The free lecture is part of a series of lectures and tours being held during Tucson Modernism Week, a celebration of all-things midcentury modern, particularly within the Tucson area.

Among the other activities: A vintage trailer show, tours and a midcentury marketplace.

The lecture begins at 6 p.m. at the Leo Rich Theater, 260 S. Church Ave. An RSVP is recommended. Get a full schedule of events on the Tucson Modernism Week website
