- Integrative Touch for Kids, a Tucson nonprofit, received a $77,000 grant on Dec. 13 from State Farm and the State Farm Companies Foundation. The funding will help support a week-long healing retreat program for children with special medical needs and their families.
- The Wings Like Eagles Foundation, from the families of Golden Eagle Distributors Inc., presented its annual grant awards earlier this month and five local charities received more than $52,000: American Lung Association in Arizona, Easter Seals Blake Foundation, Reachout Womenâs Center, St. Lukeâs Home, Inc. and Youth On Their Own.

- State Farm Insurance presented the Tucson Police Foundation with a $18,750 grant Dec. 10 to support Safe Teen Accident Reduction Training (START) classes.
- On Thursday and Friday, Dec. 18 and 19, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., on the front lawn of the University of Arizona Medical Center – University Campus, 1501 N. Campbell Ave., “Clifford the Big Red Bus” will collect new, unwrapped items — including blankets, towels, kitchen and school supplies, backpacks, diapers, clothing, nonperishable food items and gift cards — for several patients and their families at UAMC.
- The Arizona Builders’ Alliance held its 20th Annual Volunteer Day on Dec. 6, to help Faith Lutheran School rebuild and improve after severe flooding in September. Labor and materials donated to the cause were projected to exceed $150,000.
- Additionally, the Arizona Builders Alliance has been collecting toys to donate to children of Sunshine Acres.
- Northwest Fire District fire stations will be accepting food, toy and cash donations for families in need through Dec. 24.
- Locally, Walmart’s Food Pantry Holiday Makeover campaign benefited The Good Shepherd Church UCC food pantry in Sahuarita.
- Waypoint Theatre Co. and Family Life Radio presented Christmas comedies over the weekend to benefit local outreach ministries.
- Larry H. Miller Chrysler Jeep Tucson is partnering with 96.1 KLPX to raise funds for the new Fisher House at the Southern Arizona VA Health Care System Campus. Until Dec. 20, the Tucson dealership will donate $5 for every test drive to fund the construction of the new facility.
- Cox Communications is hosting a food drive for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona through Dec. 19. In addition to collecting canned goods from the public, Cox will present a $10,000 check.
- While waiting for the new produce season to start, The 3000 Club, 250 S. Toole Ave., has helped five local food pantries through donations from an affiliated bakery.
- In November, SaddleBrooke Troop Support distributed $4,500 in food cards to military veterans and their families for the holidays.
- The Cochise County Sheriff’s Office raised about $10,000 with a motorcycle ride for charity in October to benefit the Real Wishes Foundation and the National Alliance on Mental Illness.
- The Educational Enrichment Foundation and Rincon Optimist Club, with cookies provided by Eegee’s, held shoe-shopping parties for Tucson Unified School District students at Payless ShoeSource on Friday.
