- Walmart Foundation: The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona received a $50,000 grant from the foundation to support child nutrition programs. Walmart provided five grants statewide, totaling $446,000, during Hunger Action month in September, to fight hunger in Tucson, Phoenix, Show Low, Maricopa and Casa Grande.
- Citi: Citi hosted the United Wayโs Workplace Giving Campaign Kickoff on Oct. 14, an event featuring Miles Simon, whose basketball jersey was retired at the University of Arizona that evening. Citiโs United Way Campaign goal for 2017 is $200,000, which the company supports by offering a paid day off for employees who donate one hour of pay each month.
- Arizona Hearing Specialists: Donated $1,145 to St. Andrewโs Childrenโs Clinic in Nogales, Arizona. AHSโ audiologists have provided free hearing health-care services every month for more than 40 years to children from Mexico seeking treatment at the clinic. Also, Arizona Hearing Specialists collects lightly-used items, toys and nonperishable food that it distributes to the families in December. Donations can be dropped off at its three locations in Tucson and Green Valley.
- Olive Garden: On Vetera
- ns Day, the restaurants will offer a free entrรฉe from a special menu to active-duty military and military veterans. The special menu features six of Olive Gardenโs most popular items. Entrรฉes are served with unlimited homemade soup or house salad and garlic breadsticks.
- LongHorn Steakhouse:
- On Veterans Day, the restaurants will offer a free appetizer or dessert (no purchase required, no restrictions) to anyone showing proof of military service. In addition, LongHorn will offer 10 percent off for guests who dine with veterans on Nov. 11.
