  • (director of public and community relations), were awarded the Governor’s Tourism Award for Public/Media Relations at the Arizona Governor’s Conference on Tourism recently held at the Loews Ventana Canyon Resort & Spa. The award recognized Visit Tucson’s efforts in generating media coverage for Tucson’s culinary scene, including coverage of the UNESCO City of Gastronomy announcement.
  • James Nesci:
  • Nesci was appointed dean of the National College for DUI Defense Inc. for the 2016-2017 academic year. He will oversee at least four DUI-defense seminars to be held in Boston, Las Vegas, New Orleans and Tucson. Nesci is a member of the Tucson law firm Nesci & St. Louis PLLC.
  • Kari Chen:
  • Chen, of Style with Kari LLC and HIITness with Kari LLC, is the Tucson chapter finalist for the Emerging Leader of the Year award from the eWomenNetwork Foundation. The award will be announced Aug. 5 in Dallas, Texas, during the group’s international conference.
  • Bob Swift:
  • Swift, founder of TCI Wealth Advisors Inc., received the annual Pro Bono Planner of the Year award from the Foundation for Financial Planning.
  • Pima County, Tucson and others:
  • The Arizona American Society of Landscape Architects presented its HonorAward to a manual to help Pima County residents, designers and developers to capture and use storm water. The working group that created the β€œLow Impact Development and Green Infrastructure Guidance Manual” included Pima County’s Regional Flood Control District, Department of Environmental Quality and Office of Sustainability & Conservation; the city of Tucson’s Office of Integrated Planning and Tucson Water; the Pima Association of Governments; private consultants including StanTech, Tetra Tech and Wheat Design Group; and the nonprofit Watershed Management Group.
