Linda Chorney

Grammy nominee and Tucson transplant by way of New Jersey makes her debut here at Sunday's Folk Festival.

Tucson Grammy nominee Linda Chorney tapped the   ensemble Mariachi Sol Azteca for her latest music video.

"The Cantina," filmed in mid-May at the Harker Creek Old West town near South 12th Avenue and West Drexel Road, is the New Jersey native's way of wrapping her head around some of the laws in her adopted home of Arizona.

Laws that say you can carry a gun outside, but not a beer.

The video will remind you in a way of the variety show "Hee Haw," but beneath its humor is likely questions that a lot of Arizona newcomers ask themselves as they settle into life in the Southwest.

Chorney was nominated for an Americana music Grammy in 2012; she lost to Levon Helm.
