Blazing new pizza trails

Blaze, which has 181 restaurants in 32 states, will open its first Tucson location at 5615 E. Broadway with free pizzas for one and all on Friday.

Blaze Fast-Fire’d Pizza is introducing itself on Friday with free pizzas for all comers.

With a caveat: You have to follow the California-born fast-casual pizzeria on social media — Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

And just how do you prove to the folks at Blaze at 5615 E. Broadway that you're following them?

Simple: Pull out your smart phone, pull up your Facebook (or Twitter or Instagram) and show them the nice blue "follow" when you call up Blaze.

The reward: A free, made-to-order, loaded with veg, cheese, meats and your choice of white or red sauce pizza, piping hot and ready to devour in 180 seconds. Sweet.

The deal's only good Friday, from open to close (11 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and only one per customer.

The 2,700-square-foot Tucson Blaze is one of 181 locations nationwide including several in the Phoenix area. Pizzas run about $8 for an 11-inch individual serving pie. Hours: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily.
