As part of its ongoing recognition of Israel's 69th anniversary of independence, the Tucson Jewish Community Center, 3800 E. River Road, will host a free family fun day 3 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 7.
The Tucson JCC has partnered with the Weintraub Israel Center and the Jewish Federation of Southern Arizona to put on these events.

The Jewish community here is also recognizing the 50th anniversary of the reunification of Jerusalem.
The month-long Tucson Celebrates Israel events also include a free talk by Israeli Canadian journalist and author Matti Friedman, starting with a light buffet at 5 p.m. May 14 at Congregation Chofetz Chayim, 5150 E. Fifth St., according to press materials.
