Casino del Sol is staging a mock shooting Thursday to better protect patrons and personnel should a real shooter ever show up.
At least three police agencies and five fire departments will be on scene for the annual mock incident drill taking place from 1:30 to 5 p.m. on March 29.
The drill at the casino at 5655 W Valencia Rd will not affect operations because it's being held while the casino is shut down by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe to mark the Easter holiday season.
Β Tribal officials say the annual drill allows first responders to practice working together and communicating effectively when multiple agencies are involved in an emergency.
