A man was arrested Monday in connection to a midtown hit-and-run that left a bicyclist with serious injuries.
Troy Gosnell, 46, was booked into the Pima County jail on suspicion of felony hit-and-run and aggravated assault with serious physical injury, said Sgt. Pete Dugan, a Tucson Police Department spokesman.
On Sunday shortly before 3 p.m., police responded to the 1500 block of South Craycroft Road and East 25th Street and found a bicyclist who was struck from behind, said Dugan.
The bicyclist was in a marked bicycle lane and was headed north on Craycroft. He was not wearing a helmet, Dugan said. He was treated by Tucson Fire Department paramedics and taken to Banner-University Medical Center.
The victim was struck from behind by a white over gray mid-size SUV, Dugan said. The vehicle fled the scene.
Traffic detectives found that a vehicle fitting the description of the one linked to the crash pulled into a parking lot blocks north of the crash, said Dugan.
A still shot of a driver and a vehicle were obtained by investigators, said Dugan. The photographs were publicized by local media, and police received tips which led to the arrest, he said.
