A 71-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle crash Tuesday morning on Tucson's south side, police say.
The crash happened about 10:15 a.m. as Nihad Issa Ahmad Asad was turning left in a white transport van onto East Ajo Way from South Forgeus Avenue, near Kino Veteran's Memorial Stadium, Tucson ;police said in a news release.
An eastbound Kia Forte being driven by an unidentified 18-year-old struck the van. The Kia driver was not injured and cooperated in the investigation.
Asad was declared dead at the scene.
Investigators say failure to yield while making a left turn by Asad has been determined to be a major factor in the crash. The investigation continues.
