For decades, the Tucson Rodeo has always been a big hit with Tucsonans, with schools shutting down for the event, but thanks to a team of multimedia journalists at NPR it's getting some nationwide attention.
NPR's "Latino USA" is the station's only Latino news and cultural weekly radio program, which is currently in its 20th year.
In the April 7 program on the 2017 Tucson Rodeo, reporters met an 8-year-old Mexican-American boy who's moving up in the junior rodeo world.
The program "looks at the deep Mexican and Mexican-American roots in rodeo, and how one Tucson family is giving the sport their all, despite the odds."
