A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash when he drove off the highway and hit a wall in Green Valley April 28, 2016, authorities said.

A man was killed Thursday in a single-vehicle crash in Green Valley.

The victim was identified as James Julian, 78, said Deputy Courtney Rodriguez, a Pima County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman.

At about 4:30 p.m., deputies responded to an area near North La Caรฑada Drive and North Cactus Loop for a crash.

Deputies found Julian inside the vehicle and he was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later, said Rodriguez.

Traffic investigators determined that Julian was traveling south on La Caรฑada when he drove over the raised median and crossed through the northbound lanes. The vehicle continued traveling into vegetation and crashed into a wall.

Julian was wearing a seatbelt, and it is possible he suffered a medical issue, said Rodriguez. ย
