What: Benโ€™s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is โ€œbelled.โ€

Last weekโ€™s recipient: Shawna Rodriguez.

Nominated by: Gloria Soto-Wilson.

Why: For her work as interim principal at Tucson High Magnet School. Rodriguez cares deeply and passionately about the students, their families and school staff, Soto-Wilson wrote in her nomination letter. She grew up near the school and her father also taught at the high school. Rodriguezโ€™s connection to Tucson families is what keep her striving to provide the best education to students, Soto-Wilson wrote. The hours of dedication that she puts in are countless and she never complains, even while raising her young family, Soto-Wilson wrote.
