Matthew Curtis

Matthew Curtis has been convicted of child molestation.

A Tucson man who was convicted in the molestation of a child and did not show up for his trial has been located and arrested, officials say.

Matthew Curtis was convicted of molestation of his 7-year-old stepdaughter, the Pima County Attorney's Office said in a Facebook post on Tuesday. An arrest warrant was issued.

U.S. Marshals found and arrested Curtis yesterday evening, Deputy U.S. Marshal Nathan Warner said.

Curtis was located in the backyard of a home in Tucson's northwest side. According to Warner, the residents of the home were unaware of Curtis' arrest warrant.

U.S. Marshals were able to track down Curtis after finding a vehicle associated with him near the home, Warner said.

Curtis was booked into the Pima County Jail last night and is being held without bond.
