A 19-year-old man has died days after a single-vehicle crash on the city’s south side, Tucson Police said.

About 8:30 p.m. Sunday night, Santiago Mateo Guzman crashed a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix into a utility pole in the 5400 block of South Nogales Highway. He died Thursday evening at Banner University Medical Center, police said in a news release.

A 14-year-old passenger also was injured in the wreck, police said.

Both Guzman and his passenger were wearing seatbelts.

Police said speed was a factor in the crash, which is still being investigated.
