Cathleen L. Linn was appointed a Pima County Superior Court commissioner, filling a vacancy on the court bench when Gov. Doug Ducey appointed then commissioner Peter Hochuli judge last year.

Linn will assume her duties on the bench in mid-August, according to a news release Tuesday.

“Commissioner Linn brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the court and will be a great addition to the bench,” said Presiding Judge Kyle A. Bryson of Pima County Superior Court.

Linn recently was an assistant attorney general with Protective Services Division. Her work included dependency, mental health, guardianship and termination of parental rights litigation, officials said.

Linn also handled administrative hearings for the then Child Protective Services, which now is known as the state Department of Child Safety. She also handled hearings for state foster care and day care licensing, and represented Adult Protective Services.

Prior to her work with the state, Linn was an associate attorney for a local law firm.
