The Tucson Fire Department responded to a house fire that displaced a family of five near the 6100 block of East 28th Street late Saturday afternoon, according to a TFD release.
Several callers reported small explosions from the back of the residence while a resident was able to evacuate the family after seeing flames and smoke, TFD said.Â
A TFD unit that was in the area noticed the smoke before the 911 call was placed.
Upon arrival, the first unit reported flames engulfing the side of the house and an outside storage area.
One crew fought the exterior fire while another extinguished the fire inside house.
An enclosed carport of a nearby house sustained damage but the house was not harmed.
There were no reported injuries and the family is receiving help from the Red Cross, TFD said.Â
