While summer vacation has just started for thousands of University of Arizona students, it's never too early to start thinking about finances for the next school year.

A new study from Student Loan Hero, "a one-stop shop of resources, tools and information" to help students live their best financial life, has revealed that Tucson is the 4th most affordable city in the U.S. for college students.

With annual room and board at the UA costing about $12,550, the UA is actually charging above-average prices, but not by much, Student Loan Hero says.

Local housing costs are where the savings kick in for students, the website says, with Tucson coming in at 21.1 percent below the national average.

The average cost of a one-bedroom apartment in Tucson is $649 per month, of $5,841 for the school year, providing students with a cost-saving plan for living off campus, according to Student Loan Hero.
