The Oro Valley Town Council has identified four finalists interested in the being the next town manager.

Town officials announced Thursday afternoon they had narrowed the list of possible candidates to three out-of-state administrators and one from Arizona.

They are:

  • Mary Jacobs, assistant city manager of Sierra Vista.
  • Bruce Messelt, county administrator of Chisago County, Minnesota.
  • John Murphy, city manager of Hobbs, New Mexico.
  • Dave Ross, county administrator of Rock Island County, Illinois.

The four finalists will interview with council and executive staff next week.

The council has been looking for a new town manager since last June when then-Town Manager Greg Caton resigned. Town officials restarted the hunt in February after not finding a suitable replacement during the initial search.

Oro Valley Police Chief Daniel Sharp is serving as interim town manager.
