More than 700 cats and dogs are currently housed at the Pima Animal Care CenterΒ β the highest the shelter has seen this year, PACC says.
That means if you've been wanting a furry friend, now is the perfect time to get one. PACC has dogs and cats of all sizes, ages, and breeds.
"Whatever pet youβre looking for, we can help you find it," PACC Director of Animal Services Kristen Auerbach said in a news release. "We really need help to get these wonderful pets homes."
All pets come spayed or neutered with vaccinations, a microchip, and a free vet visit.Β
And if you aren't quite ready to commit to a pet adoption, fostering is an available option, too.
But to make the adoption process a bit more fun, PACC is holding "Pumpkin Patch Adoptions" for the remaining days of October.
How it works: Find a pet, visit PACC's "pumpkin patch," and pick out a pumpkin. The bottom of the pumpkin will have a discount for pets who are four months or older.Β
PACC is also hosting a Halloween event on Sunday, Oct. 28 that includes costumes, raffles, and games. There's also an online pet costume contest prior to Halloween.
PACC is located at 4000 N. Silverbell Road and is open 12 to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekends.
