What: Ben’s Bells promote kindness and community involvement. Each week a person who makes Tucson better is β€œbelled.”

Last week’s recipient: Jade Salmon.

Nominated by: Mat Schildt.

Why: Salmon was nominated by her former classmate at University High School. The two friends first met in sixth-grade at Doolen Middle School. In high school, Salmon helped Schildt get through a difficult period when he struggled with depression, according to his nomination letter. Schildt said Salmon was always there for him, getting him to laugh and offering consistent support. β€œShe is one of the kindest and most selfless people, putting others before herself at all times,” Schildt wrote.
