There are seven new residents at Tucson's Reid Park Zoo.Β

Earlier this week, the local zoo welcomed three female and four male Nigerian dwarf goats.Β

The animals, all four-months-old, are miniature goats from West Africa and are commonly domesticated as a dairy goats across the world.Β

And soon visitors will be able to get a lot more hands-on with these animals. Visitors will be able touch and brush the goats while Zoo staff offers education about the friendly animals.Β

β€œThe new goats are already a crowd favorite,” said Dr. Sue Tygielski, interim Zoo Administrator.

The herd can be seen in the goat habitat between the event gardens and the rhino habitat during regular zoo hours.Β

Four Boer goats and an Oberhasli goat will soon be joining the Nigerian goats later this month.Β
