Two people are facing felony weapons charges in connection with a jealousy-fueled drive-by shooting at a house on Tucson's southeast side, court records say.

No one was injured in the shooting that occurred shortly before midnight March 5, at house in the 3700 block of East Nebraska Avenue where a former boyfriend once lived, a complaint filed in Pima County Justice Court says.

The complaint gives the following account:

Ailyn Encinas, 21, and her boyfriend, Juan Lopez, 22, argued about her relationship with her former beau after Lopez read a text exchange then eavesdropped on a phone conversation between Encinas and the ex.

Soon after, police were called to a drive-by shooting at a house where the ex used to live. The two current residents were not stuck by the multiple shots fired at the house.

The pair was stopped in a red Toyota Rav4 by deputies patrolling the area who heard the gunfire and saw the vehicle speed off.

The deputies said Encinas had a 40-caliber Glock handgun in her waistband and Lopez had a spent 40-caliber casing on his lap.

Encinas and Lopez were each charged with drive-by shooting. Encinas was additionally charged with discharging a firearm at a residential structure, discharging a firearm in city limits and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
