A father was fatally wounded in a fight with his son, who has been arrested, the Pima County Sheriff's Department said late Saturday.
The department gave the following account in a news release:
Deputies were called to a home in the 2700 block of West Bilby Road, between West Valencia and Irvington roads west of Interstate 19, at about 10 a.m. Thursday, March 28, for a report of a domestic violence incident.
Deputies and the Drexel Heights Fire Department found 68-year-old Jose Romero-Garcia unconscious with serious injuries. He was taken to a local hospital where he died Saturday, March 30, of his injuries.
He had been in a physical fight with his son, Marcos Romero, 39, detectives said.Β
Romero was arrested on suspicion of second-degree homicide and booked into the Pima County jail.Β
