A woman who stole a Maricopa County sheriff's vehicle and led law enforcement agents on a high-speed chase on eastbound I-10 has been taken into custody near Tucson, authorities said.

Mark Casey with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office told the Associated Press that the pursuit began Thursday morning, after a woman overpowered a deputy and stole his truck at a gas station in Gila Bend, along I-8.

The chase ended on I-10 near Eloy, after the woman crashed the car. She was injured, but not seriously, Casey said.

Eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed for about an hour Thursday morning near the location where the pursuit ended, according to tweets by the Arizona Department of Transportation.

News video showed the median crowded with law enforcement vehicles, and the woman being put onto a gurney, according to the Associated Press.

State troopers with the Arizona Department of Public Safety assisted in the pursuit, said spokesman Quentin Mehr.

Casey said that he didn't immediately know what caused the pursuit to end.
