Pima Community College has another sudden vacancy on its Governing Board.
David Longoria, the boardโs District 2 representative since 2010, has resigned effective immediately because heโs relocating outside Pima County for professional reasons, a statement on PCCโs website says.
Longoriaโs six-year term expires next year. Pima County Schools Superintendent Linda Arzoumanian must now choose a temporary replacement for the collegeโs District 2 seat.
She also had to do so after former District 5 representative Marty Cortez resigned from the PCC board June 30 for personal reasons.
Longoria was one of last two remaining board members in charge of the college when the board was deemed โdysfunctionalโ by PCCโs accreditor in 2013. The last is District 4 representative Scott Stewart.
