Golf players and cigar aficionados Andy Brown and Jeff Ronstadt often enjoyed a Manhattan cocktail, a cigar and a round of virtual golf in the Phoenix area.
βWe thought, how is it that there are 50 of these places in the Phoenix area and none in Tucson?β Ronstadt said.
The duo decided to change that.
Fairway Cigars will open at 2900 E. Broadway this spring.
They have leased 3,222 square feet at 2900 E. Broadway to open a Fairway Cigars lounge.
Dave Volk, with Volk Co., represented the tenant, and Andy Seleznov, with Chapman Lindsey Commercial Real Estate, represented the landlord, HLF Properties.
Business partners Andy Brown and Jeff Ronstadt are opening a cigar lounge and bar with golf simulators in midtown.
Leather lounge chairs will be located throughout the venue with a couple of golf simulators, a full bar and a collection of cigars that can be enjoyed in the space that will have recycled air pumped through every eight minutes, Ronstadt said.
He said groups can play other teams around the country on simulators, which take about 45 minutes a round to play.
Both men have kept their day jobs as they embark on the new venture.
Ronstadt, as owner of Ronstadt Life & Health Insurance and Brown, as vice president of A Team Security & Event Services.
The hope is to open the lounge in time for March Madness.

140 S Euclid Partners bought the 16,000-square-foot building at 721 and 723 E. 12th St. from Logan Apartments for $2.7 million. The building is occupied by Caliber Collision. Dave Volk and Joey Castillo, with Volk Co., represented the buyer.
Lemmon Concessions, dba Branching Out Tree Services, sold the 7,500-square-foot building at 4040 E. 29th St. to Bloomfield Capital and WTF Land Holdings for $1.1 million as an investment. Jeramy Price, with Volk Co., represented the seller.
Jeriβs Uniform Warehouse bought the former Family Dollar store at 3625 E. Grant Road from Impulso 3625 for $1 million to relocate its store from 5611 E. Speedway. Andreas Castillo, Joey Castillo and Jeramy Price, with Volk Co., handled the sale.
Mountainside Health and Aesthetics leased 1,413 square feet at 10515 N. Oracle Road from Rooney Ranch D. Dave Hammack and Aaron LaPrise, with Picor, handled the lease.
